Sumi Jo continues musical challenges with 40th anniversary album 'CONTINUUM'

Vocalist Sumi Jo has clarified her musical direction through the special album 'CONTINUUM', which commemorates her 40th anniversary since her debut. The highlight medley of this album, released by SM Classics, simultaneously demonstrates the musical achievements Sumi Jo has accumulated over the past 40 years and the direction she will move toward in the future.

A musical philosophy that rejects familiar paths

Through this album, Sumi Jo emphasized her attitude as an artist who does not settle for existing successes. Regarding the preparation process of this album and her musical approach, she stated, "Rather than sticking to familiar paths, my musical approach is to challenge myself with new music."

This philosophy is also revealed in the track composition of the album. 'CONTINUUM' includes sophisticated coloratura arias that were not recorded in previous recordings, and also includes modern music works composed by contemporary composers. This is a point that shows Sumi Jo's intention to expand her modern musical spectrum beyond the traditional repertoire of classical music.

A 40th anniversary commemorative project involving professional production staff

The album 'CONTINUUM' was elaborately planned for the monumental moment of Sumi Jo's 40th anniversary. To increase the completeness of this project, a large number of professional production staff participated. Alan Hee Kyeong Cho is listed as the Chief Producer, and Youngsun Choi took charge as the Conductor to add musical depth.

The musical value of the album is also receiving external attention. Currently, the quality of the work is being recognized to the extent that this album is mentioned as being under consideration for the 'Best Classical Compendium' category. The highlight medley video released by SM Classics compactly conveys the diverse musical composition contained in this album, raising expectations.
