POW practices until 5 AM to cover EXO's 'MAMA'... Behind-the-scenes 'scuffle' between members

The group POW has revealed the intense practice process of preparing for an awards ceremony stage and the pleasant daily lives among the members. The behind-the-scenes video for the 2026 SPOTV K-POP AWARDS contains footage of the members preparing their cover stage of EXO's 'MAMA' as well as their recently released songs.

"We want to surprise them with a new side"… Challenging EXO's 'MAMA' cover

POW will present a cover stage of EXO's song 'MAMA' at this awards ceremony. In the video, the members focused on increasing the stage's perfection by coordinating with dancers. Through this stage, the members expressed their determination to show a new side in addition to their existing intense performances. One member conveyed their serious attitude toward the stage, saying, "For people who don't know POW, I want this to be an opportunity for them to ask 'Who are they?', and for fans, I want to show them 'POW can do this too'." They also added the ambition, "I want to surprise them with a new side."

During the practice process, the informal relationship between the members was also captured. An episode of a 'scuffle' that occurred between members Hyun Bin and HONG during choreography practice drew attention. One member mentioned an experience where their hair was blown up due to a sudden movement during practice, showing both the tension and the fun in the process of matching the choreography. The members predicted they would continue these dynamic movements on stage.

Practice continuing until 5 AM… A special stage combining 'Flavor' and 'Favorite'

The members' efforts to prepare the stage continued until the early morning. According to the video, the members continued practicing until between 4 AM and 5 AM to check the stage details. One member showed their immersion in practice by wearing protective gear to prevent injury. Even amidst the grueling schedule that lasted until dawn, the members relieved tension by sharing small daily moments, such as ordering chicken or drinking watermelon juice. In particular, a pleasant verbal dispute occurred among the members regarding the watermelon juice order, where Hyun Bin allegedly tricked another member.

The core of this awards ceremony stage lies in the song composition. POW plans to compose a single special stage by combining their recently released song 'Flavor' and their pre-debut song 'Favorite'. The members wore stage costumes and meticulously checked movement paths and camera angles, striving to maximize the visual effects delivered to the audience. In particular, they increased the perfection by repeatedly checking the 'point choreography' and 'attitude' that will be emphasized in specific sections. Looking directly into the camera, the members shared their thoughts on the composition, saying, "The 'annoying Jeongbin world' TV needs to come out right there."

Transformed hairstyles and stage costumes…"Expecting fans' reactions"

The styling changes ahead of the stage also drew attention. The members presented hair colors they dyed to match the stage atmosphere and costumes that created a prince-like feel. One member expressed anticipation for how the changed style would harmonize with the stage concept, saying, "It was originally ash brown, but I dyed it a dark color this time." Another member mentioned the changed color, saying, "It was originally ash brown, but I wanted to try dark brown this time."

POW has previously presented intense performances such as 'Amazing' or 'Wallflower'. The members were confident that this cover stage of EXO's 'MAMA' would also be a stage that maintains their existing intense color while containing new emotions. The members asked for anticipation toward the fans, saying, "We want to show you that we can do something this cool again."
