Artist 港川ルミナ has unveiled the new song 'ひと駅ぶん', completed using AI technology. The track carries a message encouraging those exhausted from trying to match the pace of others in their busy daily lives to take time to rediscover their own stride.
A time to return to one's own pace rather than the pace of others
Written by 港川ルミナ, 'ひと駅ぶん' depicts a journey of getting off at a station one stop earlier than usual and walking. Through everyday scenes such as a sunset that halts hurried footsteps or a small bakery, the song sings of the process of returning to oneself while carrying emotions that cannot be fully expressed in words. The core of the song is the comfort that it is okay not to forcibly match someone else's speed.

The lyrics contain the will to return while embracing the hardships of days when one could not smile easily or the feelings that are difficult to explain in words. Throughout the song, there is a sentiment that it is fine to walk slowly for about one stop, such as looking up at the sky until a traffic light turns green or feeling the warmth of freshly baked bread. In the video, the narrator leaves behind the useless words of days when they could do nothing, passing a red light to walk the distance of one stop to return to themselves. Even on the road as darkness falls, the narrator conveys a wish that, despite not being able to say everything, those feelings do not disappear, feeling that the hand holding a black string has become a little warmer.
Inner landscapes realized through AI vocals and illustrations
This project features notable technical experimentation. 港川ルミナ utilized AI technology for the vocals and music generation of this track, and the illustrations for the video were also generated by AI. Reflecting on the completion of the song, the artist shared the difficulty of the work of conveying scenes as they arise in the mind, stating, "I thought I would understand a little more after making it, but instead, there is even more I want to learn." The artist added the intention to "learn a bit more so that I can be closer to that sense next time."
The flow of the song begins with the sound of a train and leads to the narrator having time alone while passing a street that smells of bread. The message of wishing to have one's own time while the bread is still warm, with a hand placed on the bread bag, is delivered through a combination of musical and visual elements. The overall atmosphere of the song is formed by the desire for one to reclaim their own stride, even if they have not yet found the answers for tomorrow.
