The group KickFlip shared the concerns and musical directions they experienced while preparing their fifth mini album, 'KICK OFF THE WALL Pt. 1'. The released video contains the song camp site conducted for the album production and sincere conversations of the members.

"Beautiful because it is unfinished"... Messages written from the perspective of twenty years old

KickFlip chose 'the dawn of twenty years old' as the core keyword for this album. The members stated that they projected the concerns of life in the entertainment industry and the process of finding their own identities, felt at the point of one year after their debut, into this album. In particular, this album is characterized by shifting away from the previous perspective of focusing on others and focusing on 'me' and 'us' ourselves.

The members mentioned 'unfinished' as the message that penetrates the theme of the album. It contains the meaning that even if it is still clumsy and impatient, it is beautiful in its very existence. In the video, the members said, "We are still unfinished," explaining that they melted the hope into the songs that even if the process is hard and painful, all of it will become part of life's memories. They expressed their intention to convey hope to fans through the message that "even if we are still clumsy and impatient, we are beautiful in our existence."

Challenge toward 'Zero to Hero', production behind the scenes for each song

Specific working methods and intentions for the album's included songs were also revealed. The title track 'Zero (0)' focused on the meaning of the number 0 as a 'starting point'. It contains the ambition to start from a state of nothingness but eventually become a great adult, like 'Zero to Hero'. The members stated that they contemplated for a long time to decide the theme and title of the song, and they recorded while pouring out their emotions so that it could be delivered to people far away in a wide space. The ambition that "since Zero (0) means the starting point, we will now move forward one or two steps to become a great adult, Zero to Hero" is contained in the song.

The included song 'Blueberry' is a song that metaphorically expresses a member's personal deficiency and growth process. By connecting the blue bruise that appears when a blueberry is burst with the color of the dawn, the process of accepting things that were difficult to swallow for the sake of growth was captured in the lyrics. It is characterized by containing the will to grow, saying, "I couldn't eat it when I was young, but now I have grown, and even if I can't swallow this cleanly, I will try to swallow it forcibly at least."

'Drop In' is a song that implements the 'Rock' sound that a member usually wanted to do, containing the will to walk the path they want regardless of how others look. The original title of the demo was 'Rock', and it was completed with the heart of doing the music they want no matter what others say. The members said they worked to create a feeling of enjoying and playing more freely on stage.

Vocal and performance training to prove growth

KickFlip sought to expand their musical capabilities through this album. The members said they devoted themselves to vocal and choreography practice to show a more charismatic appearance than in previous activities. In particular, during the process of working on 'Drop In', they worked hard to find a rhythm that they could enjoy more freely on stage, and they also performed physical training for the dance break and intense performance. They mentioned that they had to raise their physical strength to show a cool appearance in the part that includes movements like lifting and kicking legs, similar to Japanese songs.

The members said, "We prepared hard to show the aspects that were disappointing or the images you wished for while liking KickFlip," expressing their hope that this album will become music that gives strength to fans. Additionally, through the message "Let's waste our youth together," they expressed their intention to draw a page of youth together.
