In a recently released video, YouTuber Bang Min-soo mentioned the film 'The Assassins', criticizing the work for distorting historical facts and containing specific political intentions.

In the video, Bang Min-soo summarized the content of the film 'The Assassins', noting that the film, which uses the subject of a request to assassinate the First Lady during the era of former President Park Chung-hee, gives the impression that the ending is predetermined rather than being an open ending. He mentioned that there are many left-wing figures in the entertainment industry, particularly among actors, explaining that "history is objective, but interpretation is subjective." He raised issues regarding the phenomenon where films biased toward a specific direction are still being produced today, even though such critical films might have been necessary during times when opposing previous regimes.

Bang Min-soo pointed out that while critical films opposing the regime were in the right direction during the past democratization movement era, the situation is different now. He mentioned that individuals who have been active since the past continue to work in the field and keep making films biased toward one side. Furthermore, he defined the essence of film and comedy as existing to criticize and indirectly mock current social problems, explaining that this characteristic aligns with the tendencies of actors.

"Similar to Chinese mainstream films"... Concerns over cultural invasion

Bang Min-soo cited the fact that 'The Assassins' shows patterns similar to Chinese mainstream films as a problem. He mentioned how Chinese films twist historical facts regarding the war on the Korean Peninsula to induce patriotism in a specific direction, claiming that 'The Assassins' also intoxicates patriotism in a strange direction and twists historical facts. In particular, he compared this phenomenon to "cultural invasion through the China Project" and expressed concern that if the younger generation, whose values are not yet established, encounters such films, they may develop a distorted perception of history.

He pointed out the director's intention in claiming that there are mysterious and suspicious parts regarding the death of the First Lady in the film 'The Assassins'.
