Jeong Hyeong-don's Barbs Leave Hwang Je-seong Flustered During YouTube Channel Visit

Korean comedian Jeong Hyeong-don appeared on the YouTube channel "Starting Today, Hwang Je-seong," where he gave an unfiltered assessment of how Hwang Je-seong runs the channel and how its filming sessions are organized. According to captions in the released video, Jeong began pointing out problems as soon as he arrived at Hwang's space, commenting on both its state of cleanliness and the preparations for filming. The conversation then developed into a broader analysis of the channel itself.

Jeong made clear that he was disappointed with Hwang's approach to managing his YouTube presence. Addressing Hwang directly in the video, he said, "You're an entertainer. You have plenty of broadcast work, so it seemed like you had very little need for YouTube." He followed that assessment by saying Hwang was handling the channel "far too casually," criticizing the lack of urgency he saw in its operation.

His criticism also extended to the way guests were invited and then used in the channel's content. Jeong went as far as describing the situation as a "waste of guests," using the pointed phrase to question the channel's overall direction. Rather than focusing on only one part of the production, he linked Hwang's attitude, guest bookings and use of content as elements of the same operational problem.

Hwang's efforts to balance television and radio work also became part of the discussion. Jeong observed that Hwang appeared to have too little energy left for YouTube because of his numerous broadcast commitments. Hwang responded in the spirit that anything needing to be dropped should be dropped, keeping the exchange playful even as Jeong continued making direct observations about his workload and priorities.

Questions Extend to the Editing Staff and Filming Conditions

The discussion moved from the channel's direction to the practical environment in which its content is produced. Jeong asked, "Who does the editing?" Hwang explained that a member of the production team present at the shoot was responsible for editing the videos. The answer prompted Jeong to keep questioning how the work was divided behind the scenes.

When he learned about the situation in which one person handled the editing alone, Jeong used joking language to call attention to what he regarded as poor working conditions. He continued asking about both the production staff and their working environment, turning the filming setup itself into another target of his sharp but comedic scrutiny.

During this exchange, Hwang jokingly countered with remarks about the production budget and the channel's revenue structure. Jeong, in turn, pressed Hwang on appearance fees and channel operating costs. "You should do something when the channel owner comes," he told him, maintaining the same blunt tone he had used throughout the visit.

Hwang reacted to the tonic water and chicken that Jeong had brought, as well as to the atmosphere on the filming set. Jeong then joked that the tonic water could serve as a substitute for his appearance fee. The remark brought the visit to another lighthearted turn and highlighted the relaxed, unceremonious rapport between the two men.
