From Marathon to Fencing, 4 Directors Prepare Sports Performance Missions

'Street World Fighter: Directors' War', where only 4 out of 10 representative choreographers from South Korea survived, has entered the final gateway to determine the ultimate winner. The four directors who reached the finals after five missions will engage in a final battle through the 'Cheer Performance Mission', which implements the energy of sports onto the stage.

From Fencing to Marathon, Different Sports Themes

To translate the heat of the arena into stage language, the directors who reached the final have set different sports disciplines. They revealed plans to melt the unique energy and messages of sports into their performances. One director stated they plan to compose the stage by setting fencing as the discipline, while another expressed the ambition to complete their own cheer based on their past experience as a battler.

The director who chose swimming as a theme defined this mission as a 'fight by oneself'. It is a determination to convey a message by capturing the moments athletes can feel. On the other hand, the director who selected marathon as the theme emphasized the message that 'it feels like running alone, but ultimately you are not alone'. The plan is to build up the cheers and voices of the crowd to implement the energy of sports through performance.

Back Koo Young and Tae-woo, a Meaningful Final Between Teacher and Disciple

This final adds tension as the relationships and narratives among the choreographers intertwine. In particular, the final showdown between Back Koo Young and Tae-woo is cited as a major point of interest this season. Tae-woo mentioned Back Koo Young as a 'very big older brother since childhood' and a presence from whom he has continued learning for a long time, stating that meeting him again in the final, as his first competitive opponent, is a meaningful moment. While expressing joy at reaching the final with Back Koo Young, Tae-woo showed an attitude of preparing a good stage to compete now as a director.

Back Koo Young also did not hide his will to win. Along with the desire to prove that he is someone who can win, he stated that since it is the final, he would show a new side and true directing capabilities.

"Win or Nothing"... The Final Battle for the Last One

The four directors expressed that their shoulders feel heavy as they create stages putting their own names on the line. The tension ahead of the final reached its peak, with remarks such as "I will do it with a life-or-death mindset" and "For me, it is win or nothing." From combative performances dealing with confrontation and victory/defeat to stages capturing the cheers of sports, attention is focused on which of the four directors with different colors will carve their name as the single winner.

The final live broadcast of 'Street World Fighter: Directors' War' is scheduled to be aired on Tuesday, October 20 at 10 PM through Mnet and tvN.
