The place Park Sung-hoon visited is the Geumodo Campground located on Daeyu-gil in Yeosu, Jeonnam. This site is a former school building that has been repurposed into a campground after being closed, and it has recently completed remodeling following various exhibitions. Park Sung-hoon toured the facilities while checking the views from the decks on-site.
Scenery and facilities of the remodeled closed school campground
Park Sung-hoon checked the campground facilities, which have become more pleasant through the remodeling. The campground's usage fees are set between 15,000 won and 25,000 won depending on the size of the deck, and various spaces such as rooftop decks are provided. While touring the on-site facilities, Park Sung-hoon checked the availability of electricity and the location of the shower rooms. The shower rooms in the Kingpin building can be used if one has a towel, depending on the control situation, and trash and food waste must be disposed of in the designated orange bins.
Regarding the environment here, he mentioned the value of island travel, saying, "Jeju Island is good, but I think there are really many good large and small islands in our country." In particular, he expressed satisfaction with the island's atmosphere, which gives a different feeling from the East Sea. Park Sung-hoon added that despite the cost and effort required to arrive by boat, the experience felt on Geumodo Island is worth it. During outdoor activities, he sought convenience by wearing functional layered clothing that absorbs sweat to reduce a sticky feeling.
A protein-focused meal prepared with gat-kimchi and pork ribs
The meal menu at the campground consisted of a protein-centered diet. Park Sung-hoon chose pork ribs and pork belly prepared using the water aging method as the main menu. He introduced the menu, saying, "It is a diet where you consume fat and protein together."
Gat-kimchi, a specialty of Yeosu, played a key role in the meal. Pairing gat-kimchi with the pork belly, Park Sung-hoon described the taste, saying, "It is pork belly, but eating it with gat-kimchi makes it feel like eating boiled pork (suyuk)." However, he also mentioned that the aroma of the gat-kimchi tasted on-site was stronger than what he usually encounters. Park Sung-hoon remarked that people coming alone are also cool and shared his impression that this is a good place to organize one's thoughts.
