USPEER Names Da-on Its Quirkiest Member: Smartest Talker, but Sometimes Forgets Her Shoes

USPEER members Seo-yu and Chae-na described each bandmate's hidden personality on a YouTube show and explained the concept of their first mini album, "Bite District". Seo-yu said the new concept freed the group from fear of looking silly.

"On our first album, we were careful as rookies, but this concept has made us unafraid of looking silly," said Seo-yu of USPEER. She and Chae-na also laid bare each member's hidden personality and the relationships within the group.

The two appeared on the YouTube channel Nam Do-hyeong's Blue Club, where they defined each member's character and explained the concept of the group's first mini album, "Bite District", released on June 17. They did so by filling out a game character file, which let them go through each member's traits one by one. USPEER introduced the album as one that represents the group's own expanded territory.

Six members, six colors

Leader Cyan was chosen as the member who looks after the others best. "Cyan unnie seems indifferent, but she takes care of us like a mother," Seo-yu said. Kim Minkyeung was named the most competitive. She is said to enjoy being loved by her older members and to stay behind and practice a lot because she wants to do better. Da-on was picked as the quirkiest: she is the smartest member and speaks the most coherently, but is said to have odd daily habits, such as sometimes forgetting to put on her shoes.

The members picked So-hui as the one who cries most easily. "So-hui is so sensitive that she has cried many times out of gratitude, even on stage at a fan meeting or during a live broadcast," Seo-yu said. The explanation continued that, though So-hui looks like a cold city girl, she is actually puppy-like.

Chae-na's steady nerve, Seo-yu's idol energy

Chae-na described herself as a "cheerful girl," but Seo-yu said that, given her pretty looks, she comes across as cute rather than cheerful. Chae-na added that she would rather be told she is funny than pretty. Seo-yu raised Chae-na's mental stat, calling her "a strong friend who, even without a long trainee period, managed her own mentality well while preparing for her debut." On being in a group, Chae-na said, "I think a group is where older and younger members fill in for each other and grow," conveying what it means for six people to become one.

Seo-yu defined herself as "Lovely Four Hearts for Me." She said she usually tries to be an "F" (feeling type) but felt she had turned into a "T" (thinking type) after member Seo-hui's rational reactions, and that her latest MBTI test had come out "F" again. On her stats, she gave herself 10 points for idol power, showing high confidence, while her stamina was revised from 5 points to 3. "When I'm in a good mood I can hold out for hours, but with Seo-hui unnie it's fun at first and then I often can't handle it, so I don't last long," she said of her relationship with her bandmate.

Green apples, little witches and a bid for the killing part

The title track "Wicked Game" is about little witches who hatch playful schemes to win the heart of someone they like. The group's symbol is the green apple, evoking something fresh, pure and not yet ripe. In the music video, the witches use Cupid's arrows to cutely get in the way of each other's love.

The members tried to show bolder sides of themselves than before. Chae-na named a particular part of the title track as its killing part and said she wants to claim it in the next round of activities. Seo-yu named a part where she can show off her own charm points and quipped that she would take it away next time.
