Harmonies Built with Voices… NMIXX Showcases A Cappella Ahead of New Album

The group NMIXX has pre-revealed the colors of their new album through a cappella harmonies composed solely of voices. JYP Entertainment released the a cappella highlight medley (Choir Ver.) for NMIXX's 6th EP 'Strange Muse', which is scheduled for release on October 19.

Choir Version Harmony Implemented by Ji Hye-jeong's Arrangement

The video released this time is the 'Choir Ver.', arranged by Ji Hye-jeong, which features NMIXX's vocal capabilities reconstructed in a choral format. The medley is composed by connecting the main sections of the songs, continuing the flow of the music using only the members' voices without instrumental accompaniment.

In the early part of the medley, a section is placed that delivers intense energy by repeating 'kerosene'. Along with the lyrics 'Let's make us sing like the kerosene', expressions such as 'Crazy, crazy, flash like the kerosene' follow, heightening the atmosphere of the song. In the following section, the atmosphere of the song shifts as the rhythm varies along with the lyrics 'Ride the carousel'. In particular, as they pass through sections that repeat 'Real talk' or include lyrics such as 'You pull me with a strange rush', the members' harmonies overlap to create the rich texture unique to a choir.

6th EP 'Strange Muse' to be Released on October 19

This medley serves as a preview to catch a glimpse of the tracks included in NMIXX's next activity, the 6th EP 'Strange Muse'. The lyrics in the video include phrases such as 'We are alive' and 'Celebrate it' that hint at the emotion of the songs, allowing one to guess the musical direction the new album aims for. Additionally, lyrics such as 'Hearts are flaws and scars' are also unfolded.

NMIXX is expected to show how they will expand their existing musical grammar through this album. The 6th EP 'Strange Muse' is scheduled to be officially released on October 19 at 6 PM (KST).
